Please read the following terms and conditions carefully, as they outline the important details regarding bookings, payments, cancellations, and participation in our tours and accommodation at Yukiumi House.
By paying the deposit or full amount, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted all the terms and conditions outlined below.
A non-refundable 20% deposit is required to confirm any reservation.
Bookings made within 60 days of the tour must be paid in full at the time of booking.
Early bird discounts require full payment at the time of booking.
Full payment for standard bookings is due 60 days prior to the start of the tour.
Cancellations made between 60 and 30 days before the tour start date will incur a 50% cancellation fee.
Cancellations made within 30 days of the tour will incur a 100% cancellation fee.
No refunds will be given for missed days due to illness, travel delays, or weather conditions.
All tours are subject to minimum participant numbers. If not met, we will offer to reschedule or provide a refund.
For safety reasons, it is mandatory for all participants to bring and use the following backcountry safety equipment:
You must also know how to use this equipment before joining the tour.
An avalanche safety briefing and gear check will be conducted before each tour. If your equipment does not meet the required standard, you may not be allowed to join the tour and no refund will be issued.
If you do not have the required gear, you may rent it from Yukiumi House by request and based on availability. Please contact us in advance to arrange this.
Participants must be honest about their skiing/snowboarding ability and physical fitness.
If you cannot keep up with the group or do not meet the required skill level, no refund will be issued.
It is your responsibility to attend safety briefings and be properly prepared.
You are responsible for the care of any rental equipment provided by Yukiumi House or third parties. Lost or damaged items must be paid for.
Backcountry skiing/snowboarding involves inherent risks, including but not limited to: avalanches, tree wells, poor visibility, harsh weather, difficult terrain, cold exposure, and remote locations with limited access to medical help.
All participants are required to sign a RELEASE OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISKS, AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT before joining any tour. While our guides are trained professionals, they cannot eliminate all risk.
For your safety and the safety of the group, you must follow the instructions of your guide at all times. Yukiumi House reserves the right to remove any participant from a tour if their behavior or skill level jeopardizes safety.
You must carry travel insurance that covers medical expenses, helicopter rescue, and emergency evacuation while in Japan. Yukiumi House is not responsible for any costs related to injuries, illness, or evacuations.
Tours run in variable weather and snow conditions. No refunds are provided due to poor weather, avalanche risk, or other natural conditions. Routes may be modified, delayed, or cancelled if safety is compromised.
Yukiumi House is not liable for cancellations or changes caused by events beyond our control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, pandemics, government restrictions, or road closures.
By joining our tours, you consent to the use of photographs and video taken during the trip for promotional purposes, unless otherwise specified in writing.
Yukiumi House collects only the personal data necessary to process your booking and communicate with you about the tour. This information is handled confidentially and will not be shared with third parties except as required for operational purposes (e.g. insurance, emergency contact, rentals).
While we do not currently publish a formal privacy policy on our website, we are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with standard data protection practices.
